New Delhi: A thick blanket of fog continues to envelope the national capital affecting vehicular movement due to low visibility on Wednesday.
According to reports, due to low visibility, he movemen of train and flight operations are likely to be affected. The Metrological Department has predicted more rains in Delhi in the days to come.
The weather department had earlier predicted a spell of dense fog for Delhi till January 11. Met officials said that general visibility will remain between 50m to 600m in the days to come due to high humidity levels and calm winds.
"The current spell of fog will last for another day or so and there should be relief from the low visibility conditions starting from the night of January 11 to around January 15. After that, we may expect another two or three spells of dense fog," said Dr RK Jenamani, director in-charge, IGI Met.
The IMD has also predicted that the winter rainfall over north India for the period between January to March, is most likely to be below normal. The long period average rainfall over the area for this period is 183.1mm.
Following the worst fog of the last eight years, Delhi government ordered the compulsory closure of all schools from January 07 to 11.
