While heavy rains lashing Delhi and adjoining NCR region on Sunday brought respite from the humid weather, instances of waterlogging were also reported from several parts of the national capital.

New Delhi: While heavy rains lashing Delhi and adjoining NCR region on Sunday brought respite from the humid weather, instances of waterlogging were also reported from several parts of the national capital.

Waterlogging led to traffic snarls in various parts of the state which led to commuters facing difficulties in reaching their destination.

IMD has predicted rains for the next 24 hours and no change in the weather conditions is expected.

Flooding of roads due to rains led to waterlogging in areas including Lajpat Nagar, Maharani Bagh, Baba Kharak Singh Marg, under Dhaula Kuan flyover and Laxmi Nagar.

Delhi Traffic Police also took to Facebook to alert people about the areas where traffic movement was affected due to waterlogging.

Till 8.30 am, 30.2 mm rainfall was recorded, the weather office said.

The minimum temperature settled at 25 degrees Celsius, slightly below the season`s average. "The sky would remain cloudy in the day. Rain and thunderstorms would occur in many areas of the capital," an official of the India Meteorological Department said.

The maximum temperature will hover around 32 degrees Celsius. The humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 98 percent.
