New Delhi: Reacting to reports that a leading private hospital in the capital had thrown the body of a new-born girl child into the garbage dump, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday said that the incident was `unacceptable`.
Speaking to scribes, Kejriwal said, "We got the report of a new born baby being dumped in the garbage dump. We are investigating it."

Zee Media had reported that the shameful incident took place at the Chanan Devi Hospital in Janakpuri where the newly-born baby girl was admitted on Sunday for treatment after she developed some infection.

But after she succumbed to her ailments in the early hours of Monday, her family was shocked to find that her dead body had not been preserved in the mortuary but dumped in the backyard of the hospital along with biological wastes.

According to reports, the bereaved family has lodged an FIR at the Janakpuri Police Station and the local police has begun its investigation into the case.

Ironically, Satyendra Jain, the newly-appointed Delhi Health Minister in the Arvind Kejriwal led AAP government, today shocked reporters by saying, “The hospital in question is a private hospital hence the state government can not directly intervene in the matter.”
