New Delhi: Jawaharlal Nehru University Students' Union (JNU) president Kanhaiya Kumar and his college mate Umar Khalid has approached the Delhi Police for security, a media report said on Friday.
Kanhaiya and Khalid have approached the police for their security, India Today reported.
Kumar has recently courted fresh controversy over his Facebook post regarding the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.
He had allegedly said there was a difference between the 2002 Gujarat riots and the 1984 Sikh massacre.
However in his defence, Kumar said he was misinterpreted.
In his Facebook post he allegedly wrote, that the anti-Sikh riot was a "mob-led massacre" while the 2002 Gujarat riot was a "state-sponsored violence."
Kumar has been in trouble since he was arrested in a sedition case over an event against the hanging of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru.
