Kejriwal's AAP ropes in BJP veteran Yashwant Sinha for Delhi Budget

New Delhi: In what can bring in a huge embarrassment for Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party, the Aam Aadmi Party government led by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has roped in veteran politician Yashwant Sinha to help formulate the budget for Delhi.

The AAP government will present the Delhi Budget on March 15.

Senior BJP leader Yashwant Sinha has several times mocked the concept of 'margdarshak mandal' - to which virtually sidelined BJP veterans have been relegated.

After PM Narendra Modi's elevation, BJP leader LK Advani, Yashwant Sinha and Murli Manohar Joshi have expressed their displeasure with the party over leadership issues at several ocassions in the past.

The BJP veteran recently tore into the Modi government, saying there is no dialogue among the NDA allies and they may meet the same fate as the Indira Gandhi-led Congress, which was drubbed in the elections after Emergency.

Taking a swipe at PM Modi for setting the cut-off age of 75 years for induction of ministers, Sinha had earlier said the present regime has declared those above 75 as "brain dead" on assuming office.

Sinha was finance minister in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government.

The octogenarian leader from Jharkhand is among top BJP leaders like Advani and Joshi, who have been sulking after not been inducted into the Modi government. Advani and Joshi have been made members of BJP's 'Margdarshak Mandal" to mentor the party.
