Sanjay Singh's bail plea has exposed the AAP leader: Bikram Singh Majithia

The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader said Singh's "U-turn" was emblematic of the politics of AAP.

New Delhi: Punjab Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia on Monday said the "real face" of AAP and its leaders have been exposed with the surrender and seeking of bail in a criminal defamation case by AAP's Punjab incharge Sanjay Singh in Ludhiana today.

He said AAP and its leaders stand exposed as "unreliable" as AAP convenor Suchha Singh Chhotepur had categorically stated that Sanjay Singh would not seek bail in the case and that the party stood by him.

"Both leaders have proved themselves to be true 'chameleons' who change their stance as and when it suits them," Majithia said in a statement here.

A Ludhiana court today granted bail to AAP leader and incharge of the party's Punjab affairs Sanjay Singh in a criminal defamation case filed by Majithia against Singh on January 11.

Majithia said "Sanjay issued a number of statements claiming he was ready to go to jail on the issue. However, when the time came to keep his promise he chose to retract on his stand. Today, instead of sticking to his stand, Sanjay moved a bail application and submitted sureties in the court."

"I have told you that you will have to pay for the disinformation campaign launched by you and I will work steadfastly to achieve this goal," the Punjab minister said.

The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader said Singh's "U-turn" was emblematic of the politics of AAP. "The party believes in hit-and-run tactics. It even evokes the name of martyrs to befool the people. However, when confronted it takes a U-turn and eats humble pie".
