Senior BJP leader and Incharge of Delhi elections, Nitin Gadkari on Wednesday attacked Sheila Dikshit government alleging it was trying to hide its failures by blaming the opposition for price rise and corruption.

New Delhi: Senior BJP leader and Incharge of Delhi elections, Nitin Gadkari on Wednesday attacked Sheila Dikshit government alleging it was trying to hide its failures by blaming the opposition for price rise and corruption.

"There is a strong resentment building up against Congress all over the country and Delhi was no exception. The Dikshit government had failed on all fronts and was now trying to hide its failures by blaming the opposition for price rise and corruption," Gadkari said launching the party`s election campaign at Jaitpur in Badarpur assembly constituency.

In a statement, issued by BJP leader Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, Gadkari said he had been touring various parts of Delhi during the election campaign and came across the "strong anger and resentment" prevailing among the people against the "anti-poor and anti-people" policies of the Congress government in Delhi.

"There is a strong message emerging from the people of Delhi. They want to throw out this Sheila Dikshit regime and bring BJP to power to restore confidence of the common man in governance," he said.

Apart from Gadkari, BJP`s Chief Ministerial candidate Harsh Vardhan, Delhi BJP President Vijay Goel, member of BJP national executive Ramvir Singh Bidhuri and film star and BJP leader Manoj Tiwari were also present at the rally.

Gadkari said price rise was an issue not only in Delhi but had impacted cross sections of people all over the country.

"People would teach the Congress government in Delhi a hard lesson in the assembly elections", he said and claimed he could clearly see BJP getting around 50 seats in the December 4 polls," he said.

"The hefty water and power bills in the last few months have broken the backbone of the poor and rations for the poor have disappeared from the ration shops in Delhi," he charged adding if BJP is voted to power then it would build five lakh houses for the poor.
