New Delhi: Whale encounters are an extremely rare phenomenon and most people don't even get to see one after many tries, let alone getting a glimpse of the gentle giants.
Then, there are those who go to numerous places for whale-spotting and get to boast of swimming along with a couple of them.
However, Brad Rich, an experienced fisherman's encounter is one that can and will make anyone out there wishing for a whale encounter extremely green with envy! Little did Rich know, that he was in for an experience of a lifetime.
Now, the state of Alaska is a place that is brimming with wildlife. Be it on land or sea, opportunities for wildlife exploration are manifold.
To do that, however, the best option is to explore via boat, since roadways are pretty limited.
Rich, who was fishing near Resurrection Bay off the coast of Seward, Alaska, with his friends, literally had a “whale”of a time.
Bobbing out on the sea for a while, the group spotted a cluster of seagulls, which hinted at the possibility of a pod of humpback whales nearby that were probably feeding.
Hopeful at the prospect of finally spotting a humpback whale, Rich starts panning the camera on all sides.
All he had to do, was turn the camera a bit to the left and out popped at least ten humpback whales together, as they gulped down fish right off the stern of the boat!
Unable to contain their excitement, the entire group, especially Brad, can be heard exclaiming in delight!
Now THAT is called a picture perfect moment! The group's excitement is so contagious, we could feel it too after seeing the following clip and couldn't help but feel thankful that Brad Rich was carrying a camera to capture that moment, so that we could see it too!
