PM Manmohan Singh to resign tomorrow at 12.45 pm

With the nation electing a BJP government in 2014 polls, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will pave way for Narendra Modi to take over the post by stepping down tomorrow.

New Delhi: With the nation electing a BJP government in 2014 polls, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will pave way for Narendra Modi to take over the post by stepping down tomorrow.

As per reports, Manmohan Singh will resign as the prime minister of India at 12.45 pm tomorrow after serving the nation for 10 consecutive years.
He will meet President Pranab Mukherjee in the afternoon Saturday to submit his resignation.

"The Prime Minister sought time and the President has given time for 12:45 pm tomorrow," Rashtrapati Bhavan Press Secretary Venu Rajamony said.

Prior to polls, Singh had made it clear that he will not be in the running for a third term as PM if the UPA comes back to power.
