Five Nepalese among 17 killed in Goa building collapse

Five Nepali workers were among 17 people killed in a building collapse in Goa, officials in Dang district of western Nepal said today.

Kathmandu/Panaji: Five Nepali workers were among 17 people killed in a building collapse in Goa, officials in Dang district of western Nepal said on tuesday.
 

The five, working as security guards, died on Saturday when an under-construction apartment in Goa collapsed, burying them.
 

The deceased have been identified as Sitaram Kami, 22, Dipesh BK, 22, Upendra Oli, 36, Tara Bahadur Khadka, 35, and Damber Nepali, 42, of Dang district.
There were seven Nepalese man working in the apartment. The remaining two are safe.
 

Meanwhile, Chief District Officer Ravi Lal Pantha said that the district administration is coordinating with the concerned Ministry for bringing the dead bodies to Nepal or sending their relatives to India.
Pantha assured that bilateral discussions would be held between the governments of Nepal and India soon on the issue.
 

It is not clear whether the concerned company would provide them with compensation or not.
