Now, breast implants that can self diagnose problems

New York: A Florida- and Belgium-based company Establishment Labs has created new breast implants that are equipped with radio frequency identification (RFID) microchip to help diagnose problems.

The chip will give doctors and patients easy access to info about the implants, which includes serial number, manufacturer name etc.

By using a handheld device the doctors will be able to quickly find the implant's make and model, even after many years.

The new product, Motiva Implant Matrix Ergonomix, will be able to provide an extra level of safety assurance.
