New Delhi: If researchers are to be trusted, superbugs are capable of killing someone every three seconds by the year 2050 unless some measures are taken now.
As per a report published in BBC, a recently conducted review mentions that the situation will get worse with nearly ten million people predicted to die every year from infections by 2050.
The same review furnishes out a plan for preventing medicine "being cast back into the dark ages" that needs billions of dollars of investment.
The battle against infections that are resistant to drugs is one the world is losing rapidly and has been described as "as big a risk as terrorism".
This review also challenges the way in which antibiotics are being used by people and a campaign to make to make people aware.
The problem is that we are simply not developing enough new antibiotics and we are wasting the ones we have.
