Srinagar: One more swine flu patient Friday died at a hospital here, taking the casualty due to the disease in the Valley to 12, health officials said.

"One death (by swine flu) has been reported today, while three more patients have tested positive for the H1N1 virus," Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) spokesperson Kulsoom Bhat said.

She said the swine flu victim, a 42-year-old woman from Ganderbal district, was admitted at the hospital on March 4 with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).

She said 13 fresh samples were taken for testing after 54 patients were seen by the doctors at the special OPD today.

Five of the samples were received from the Army hospital, she said, adding that two patients have been discharged from the hospital while three new patients were admitted in isolation ward.

With three fresh cases today, Bhat said a total of 377 patients have so far tested positive for the disease in the Valley.
