Mumbai: A group of five to six persons on Saturday vandalised an office of ABVP, the student union affiliated to BJP, police said.

The attackers damaged furniture in the office, located in the Marble Arc building near the Matunga railway station in central Mumbai.

No arrests have been made so far, police said.

It was not known if the attack was in connection with suicide case of Dalit research scholar Rohith Vemula, they said.

Vemula and four others had faced action from Hyderabad Central University authorities for allegedly assaulting an ABVP leader last August.

Yadunath Deshpande of ABVP here alleged that members of a youth organisation loyal to Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi were behind the attack.
