Baba Hardev Singh's mortal remains brought to Delhi, 'Antim Darshan' to be webcast live

New Delhi: The mortal remains of spiritual leader and Sant Nirankari Mission head Baba Hardev Singh, who died in a road accident in Canada on Friday, were brought back to India on Monday.

The body of the spiritual leader was flown to Delhi from Canada`s Montreal. His body was then kept in west Delhi`s Burari Road for the devotees to pay their final respects.

Last rites of Baba Hardev Singh will be performed on Wednesday, a mission release said.

 

 

"The Antim Yatra (last journey) will begin on Wednesday from Ground No 8 at 8 am and conclude at Nigam Bodh Ghat. Antim Sanskar (last rites) will take place at the CNG Crematorium at 12 noon," mission official Kirpa Sagar said in a release.

''The mortal remains of His Holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj will be placed in Samagam Ground No. 8 in Delhi for Antim Darshan by devotees. The same will be webcast live from 1.00 pm (IST) on May 16, 2016 onwards. This will continue round the clock till the Antim Sanskar (last rites) takes place at the Nigam Bodh Ghat CNG Crematorium at 12.00 noon on Wednesday, May 18, 2016. The body of Avneet Setya, son-in-law of His Holiness who also succumbed to his injuries in Montreal, Canada will also be placed at Ground No.8 and then cremated at Nigam Bodh Ghat,'' the mission informed in the release.

 

 

''The proceedings will cover the Antim Yatra from 8.00 am to 12.00 noon on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 from Ground No. 8 upto Nigam Bodh Ghat,'' it added.

The mission had already urged the followers across the world not to gather in New Delhi to avoid inconvenience.

62-year-old Hardev Singh was killed in a road accident in Canada on Friday.

As per details available on 'Nirankari Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj Community' on Facebook, Baba Hardev Singh was travelling from New York to Montreal in a car along with his two sons-in-law Avneet and Sunny when the car crash happened.

Meanwhile, Montreal Police have launched an investigation into the accident to determine what exactly led to the car crash.
