Jaipur: Congress leader Sachin Pilot on Thursday said the NDA-led Central government was hurting the farmers' sentiments by making changes in the Land Acquisition Act brought by the previous government.

"The government is hurting farmers' sentiments and conspiring to make them landless by making changes in the Act," party state president Pilot said, while addressing a joint meeting of the party executives, MLAs and office bearers at the PCC office here.

He said the previous Congress government had brought the land bill, and the Opposition supported it then but now the BJP, after coming to power, was making changes which were against the interests of the farmers.

The meeting was attended by former chief minister Ashok Gehlot, state party incharge Gurudas Kamat, co-incharge Mirza Irshad Baib, former PCC chief Dr Chandrabhan and others.
