'Congress' spit and run strategy will fail; Arun Jaitley won't resign'

New Delhi: In a scathing attack at the Congress, the BJP has accused the principal opposition party of working on a spit and run strategy against the government, while also rejected demands for the resignation of Finance Minister Arun Jaitley over the alleged DDCA scam.

Addressing reporters outside the Parliament, parliamentary affairs minister Venkaiah Naidu said, “They (Congress) are doing research to find new issues to stall Parliament everyday.”

Naidu asserted that the government, from day one, has been open to discussing all issues but the Opposition, especially the Congress, has never been interested.

“Spit and run is the strategy of the Congress,” he quipped and accused the party of trying to deflect attention from the National Herald case.

Naidu added that the whole country is looking at the Parliament for forward movement on the reform process but the Congress is only wanting to keep disrupting the Parliament.

“Their strategy will boomerang on them,” Naidu said.

Naidu also defended his cabinet colleague Arun Jaitely over the alleged scam in the Delhi Cricket Association.

“No question of resignation of Arun Jaitley ji, he is an honest person,” he stressed.
