Islamabad: Embarrassed by the loss meted out to Pakistan by the Indian Army, the citizens of the South Asian nation on Wednesday took on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and accused India of violating ceasefire on the occasion of Eid.

In the wake of ongoing tensions across the border, #CowardModi trended on Twitter in Pakistan. Earlier in the day, reports had suggested that the Pakistani Army is embarrassed by the response of the Indian government so much so that it has barred the state TV channels from broadcasting the images of the damage inflicted on them by the Indian Army.

On microblogging website Twitter, the users targeted Modi, raking up 2002 Gujarat riots and asked him to explain why he refused to wear a skull cap at a public function.

Pakistan People's Party (PPP) leader Bilawal Bhutto had on Tuesday, while referring to ceasefire violations at the Jammu and Kashmir border, took on Narendra Modi, saying the Indian Prime Minister must realise that Pakistan could “retaliate unlike his victims from Gujarat”.
