Demonetisation: Not concerned about Opposition anger; country supports PM Modi, says BJP

“We standing with the truth. The historic decision taken by PM Modi is in nation's interest.”

New Delhi: Amid hectic efforts by some Opposition parties to put up a united front against Prime Minister Narendra Modi's demonetisation drive, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said that it would have been better if the Opposition united to laud Modi for the bold move.

BJP spokesperson Siddharth Nath Singh said, “We are least concerned whether they unite or not as the people of this country have united in supporting Prime Minister in the fight against black money.”

“We standing with the truth. The historic decision taken by PM Modi is in nation's interest,” he added.

On moves by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to reach out to the Left and other parties to put up a united front against the government, the BJP spokesperson said, “Queen of Saradha and Narada is trying to unite Opposition against the government, they are shaken by this step of Modi ji. Trinamool and Left parties are mirror images of each other.”

A few days back, Singh had tweeted: “Mamata so scared after liquidation of TMC malda fake currency factory has decided 2 join Left 2counter BJP. Desperate Mamata.”
