New Delhi: External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has been unwell for some time, but that didn't stop her from performing her duties.
Swaraj, who is recuperating from a kidney failure in AIIMS, has come to the rescue of a London-based NRI seeking help in renewing his passport.
Kunwar Bisht wants to visit the country for a medical emergency in the family.
Bisht had sought help from the External Affairs Minister for a visa renewal so that he could attend his ailing father, who is on ventilator support.
Swaraj was quick to act and tweeted: “Indian High Commission in London will help you.”
The Twitterratis jumped to joy seeing their favourite minister back in action. People flooded her twitter account with best wishes and recovery messages.
After the news of her illness spread, several people had voiced their interests on social media platforms to donate their kidneys to Sushma Swaraj.
She had herself tweeted about her illness and that she needed to undergo a kidney transplant.
A team of top doctors constituted for her treatment included Nikhil Tandon, head of endocrinology, Randeep Guleria, head of pulmonary medicine and Sandeep Mahajan, chief of cardio thoracic and head of nephrology, among others.
