Jaipur: The philosophy of 'Ekatm Manavvad' (integral humanism) is the answer to various challenges and problems of materialist world which persisted in countries which followed concepts of communalism and capitalism, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said.
Speaking on the relevance of Ekatm Manavvad, Chouhan said that Western countries became materialistic by following model of capitalism while others became communists but none of them could achieve universal satisfaction.
"Post independence, political leaders were in process to decide what kind of government the country should have and how the welfare of the country should be articulated.
"They were for the concept being practiced in Western countries but Pandit Deendayal Updahyay talked about Ekatm Manvvad and said that only Ekatm Manavvad would be the suitable and ideal concept to follow," Chouhan said.
"Ekatm Manavvad is very relevant today as it gives mental, physical, economical and social satisfaction. Global warming, pollution, weather change and other problems could be resolved only through Ekatm Manavvad.
"Wealth collection or accumulating materialistic things is not universal happiness. For achieving it, we need to make our body and mind healthy while earning enough money. Role of witness and pureness of soul also play important role and all these things can be achieved in light of Ekatm Manavvad," he said.
The Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister said that Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay had warned, by giving the philosophy of Ekatma Manavvad, that uncontrolled exploitation of nature will be destructive.
He said that he in his state has made efforts to implement the principles of Ekatm Manavvad and introduced several schemes which are intended at social welfare and universal happiness.
He insisted that revenue from liquor sale or such other means may take the earnings of a state to higher level but that money does not bring goodness to the society.
"This is why we have decided to not increase liquor shops or setting up new distilleries in our state," he said, while highlighting the schemes introduced by his government.
Chouhan said that his government was also encouraging and promoting youths to become entrepreneur and was focusing on giving benefits to such industries which provide large number of job opportunities, instead of automated industries.
Former state president of BJP Mahesh Sharma and others were present on the occasion.
