Kolkata: European country Estonia is expecting the number of tourists from India to go up and also planning to boost bilateral trade and commerce ties.

"Some 15,000 tourists (from Estonia) come to India but most of them move to Goa. While, only 5,000 Indians go to Estonia. I was in touch with some tour operators to change the same," Estonia Ambassador Viljar Lubi said here today at an interactive session with CII.

The country was also planning to boost trade and commerce but focus would be in the niche areas as the country cannot compete price of the mass products.

"We cannot compete India in mass products in price competitiveness and so we have to focus at niche and specialised products and services," Lubi said.

Estonian external trade is mostly restricted to Europe and just 15 per cent is with rest of the world, Lubi said.

Estonia in recent past was aiming jump in their exports in telecom for supply of 3G and 4G equipment from Estonian companies.
