Yamuna Nagar: The final rites of BSF jawan Rocky, who was killed while fighting terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir`s Udhampur, were held at his residence here on Friday.
"We tried to give them strength; we told them their son has done a great work. All the welfare schemes will be provided to them. We will try to provide them compassionate appointments," said KK Dhulia, DIG, BSF.
As per reports, the 27-year-old constable of the forces` 65th Battalion, emptied his entire magazine containing about 40 bullets when militants attacked a Border Security Force convoy in Udhampur.
Three heavily armed militants had attacked a BSF convoy in Chaneni area of Udhampur district along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway on August 5.
The militants, who were in army uniform, started firing indiscriminately on a BSF bus which was a part of the convoy on the way to Srinagar.
