New Delhi: The Indian Army has a new 'enemy' in tattoos!
It seems so because the force has now decided to show zero tolerance towards "offensive" tattoos, especially while selecting commissioned officers.
According to a report in The Times of India, the Army has authorised a new policy and will seek details from candidates - appearing for interview for commissioned officers – on tattoos on their body.
The Army has set certain parameters and the selection board will allow tattoos based only on these guidelines.
Candidates found having 'objectionable' tattoos will be rejected in the very first stage of the five-day selection process for commissioned officers.
Further, a candidate will have to submit an affidavit stating he would not have any more tattoos on his body before leaving for pre-commissioning training, the daily reported.
Earlier, the Army had formulated similar regulations for recruitment of jawans.
