In a horrifying incident, a man killed 14 members of his own family in Thane district of Maharashtra on Saturday. The accused also killed himself after committing the crime.

New Delhi: In a horrifying incident, a man killed 14 members of his own family in Thane district of Maharashtra on Saturday. The accused also killed himself after committing the crime in the house in Kasarvadavali area of the city. 

The accused has been identified as 35-year-old Hasnil Warekar.  
 
According to the police, the man was found hanging with a knife in his hand. Based on the preliminary probe, police say that the man allegedly killed 14 members of his family by slitting their throats after sedating them. 

The deceased include seven men and six women and the accused himself. Only one woman of the family survived and has been hospitalised. 

A property dispute is said to be the reason behind these gruesome murders. The bodies have been sent to Thane Civil Hospital for post-mortem.
