Heroin worth Rs 10 crore seized along Indo-Pak border

BSF jawans recovered two packets of heroin in Firozpur sector along the Indo-Pak border.

Jalandhar: Two kilogram heroin, worth around Rs 10 crore in the international market, were seized on Thursday near Shamake border outpost in Firozpur sector along the Indo-Pak border, BSF officials said here.

The forces personnel in the wee hours today noticed suspicious activities near the border but it stopped after sometime, Inspector General of BSF, Punjab Frontier, Anil Paliwal said.

On searching the spot in the morning, the jawans recovered two packets of heroin, weighing one kg each, from the spot,Paliwal said.

The recovered contraband is worth Rs 10 crore in the international market, he said.

The BSF has recovered 295 kg of heroin along international border in Punjab this year so far, the Inspector General said.
