Delhi: BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha said on Tuesday that he was not in the race for the post of Bihar chief minister.
Talking to Zee Media, he said, “I am not in the race for Bihar CM's post. I have no desire for it and neither do I have time for it,” and added, “I have no demands, complaints or expectations. I came to politics from films with no ambition or motive but with a mission.”
When asked why he had suggested Ram Vilas Paswan's name as NDA's CM candidate, the BJP leader said, “I had suggested names of some BJP leaders, I had also suggested the name of Paswan. I didn't say it out of irritation that my name was not in the fray.”
At the same time he maitained that “it would have been better if there had been a face of NDA in Bihar. People have a right to know.”
“This time Bihar polls will be very interesting and it will be a litmus test for the BJP,” Sinha further said.
The BJP MP maintained that if BJP-led NDA wins in Bihar then “we can turn it into an opportunity. It we win we can turn around Bihar as PM Narendra Modi is a very determinded person.”
On being asked as to why he was missing from party's rallies and posters this time around Sinha said, “My popularity is much more than others. I don't know what is the reason why I am not invited to party's events in Bihar and why my name is not on posters. There are some people who may be against me.”
Praising PM Modi he said, “The PM is a dashing, dynamic, action-hero. He represents nation's aspirations. People have a lot of expectation from him. He has a lot of energy. People of the country are fortunate that they have a got a PM like him. It is his prerogative as to whom he wants to make a minister.”
On controversies that have been surrounding him in recent times the BJP leader said, “I have been a part of BJP and will always be.”
“I am cool, calm and composed person,” Sinha added.
