Ghaziabad: A major fire broke out at a surgical equipment manufacturing factory in Modi Nagar area of the district this evening injuring four persons.
At least 10 fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the flames. The fire was not put off till the last reports came in.
SHO Modi Nagar Deepak Sharma told that fire broke out at Vikas Surgical manufacturers in Niwari Road area.
The three storied building has been engulfed in flames.
Four workers, including one woman employee, were trapped inside the building and received burn injuries.
All of them were rushed to hospital, police said, adding that the cause of fire could not be ascertained.
Sub Divisional Magistrate Atul Kumar, Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar Singh and other district administrations officials have reached the site and are supervising the fire fighting and rescue operations.
