Srinagar: A massive manhunt has been launched in Jammu and Kashmir for Abu Qasim, a top Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) commander who is believed to have 'handled' arrested Pakistani terrorist Mohammad Naved Yakub alias Usman Khan.
As per Zee Media's Manish Shukla, the manhunt is focussing on the Kashmir Valley.
Sources in the National Investigation Agency (NIA) believe Qasim has been operating freely in the Kashmir Valley since 2011.
It is suspected that Qasim has been running all operation of the LeT in Kashmir.
He is also suspected to be the handler of all Pakistani terrorists in J&K – it is he who coordinates with all terrorists and assigns targets.
NIA also believes that Qasim is aware of the location of Okasa and Mohd Bhai, close aides of Naved who had carried out the terror attack on a BSF convoy in Udhampur earlier this month along with Noman.
Naved reportedly admitted yesterday during a polygraph test in Delhi that he is from Pakistan and was trained at LeT camp there.
Reports quoted sources as saying that Naved also admitted that he was told to target security forces in India.
Naved was subjected to lie detector test after he had made 'contradictory and misleading' statements about his Indian contacts and the route his group took to infiltrate into India.
