Opposition creating fear among minorities against BJP: Gadkari

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has accused the Opposition parties of creating fear in the minds of people against the BJP and its leaders, after being unable to criticise the government's work.

Panaji: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has accused the Opposition parties of creating fear in the minds of people against the BJP and its leaders, after being unable to criticise the government's work.

"The opposition cannot comment on our work. That is why they are creating fear in the minds of minorities against the government, party (BJP) and leaders," Gadkari told reporters last evening at the BJP office here in the presence of Union Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar and Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar.

"When they cannot convince (people against BJP), they are confusing," he said.

"They try to create communal discord by pointing out that church or mosque is attacked in the BJP rule. BJP has no links with these incidents," the minister asserted.

"Two youths who were caught for raping a nun in West Bengal were Bangladeshi Muslims," he further said.

Gadkari pointed out that the recent attack on a church in Delhi was probed and it was found that some inebriated persons had thrown stones on the structure.

"All these incidents are unfortunate, but directly or indirectly, BJP or any other organisation of our ideology or the Union government is not involved in it," he stated.
