New Delhi: Security expert Alok Bansal said on Tuesday that Pakistan is extremely keen to cross the border and create disturbance in the Jammu and Kashmir, and is being made to feel desperate because of the recent floods and the security measures put in place by the Indian security forces.

"As far as the infiltration into Jammu and Kashmir is concerned, the Pakistan Army is realising that the infiltration is not fructified because of floods and the other security measures taken by the Indian security forces. The Pakistani security personnel are extremely keen to infiltrate terrorists into Jammu and Kashmir so that some disturbance can be created in Jammu and Kashmir," Bansal told a news agency.

"They are not keen that peace should return to Jammu and Kashmir. They have realised that the Indian Army's role in flood relief has won them immense goodwill and Pakistan is not happy that the people of Kashmir are actually looking forward to the Indian Army and collaborating with the Indian Army," he added.

He also said the Indian Army is giving a befitting reply to the ceasefire violations across the Line of Control and that the military actions beget a military response and not a political response.

"I am sure the Indian Army is giving them a befitting reply across the Line of Control and military actions beget a military response and not a political response. It is wise on the part of the Indian Government not to give a political response to Pakistan's military actions," Bansal said.

During the wee hours of Tuesday, the Pakistan Rangers targeted 40 border outposts, villages and four sub-sectors in heavy mortar shelling and firing along the International Border, injuring three people.
