New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday paid tribute to Bharat Ratna Babasahib Dr BR Ambedkar on his 'Mahaparinirwan Diwas'. PM Modi took to Twitter to pay his homage to BR Ambedkar and wrote that his contribution to the Nation is 'eternal & invaluable'.

Dr BR Ambedkar passed away on the 6th December 1956. He is fondly known as the 'messiah' of the marginalized people and also the 'Father of the Indian Constitution'.
He was a jurist, economist, politician and a social reformer who campaigned against social discrimination of Dalits, women and labourers. In 1990, Ambedkar was posthumously conferred the Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award of India.
