Riots accused VHP leader Sadhvi Prachi moves court to go abroad

A court here on Wednesday reserved its order on a plea by firebrand VHP leader Sadhvi Prachi, an accused in a case relating to riots here two years ago, seeking passport and permission to go abroad.

Muzaffarnagar: A court here on Wednesday reserved its order on a plea by firebrand VHP leader Sadhvi Prachi, an accused in a case relating to riots here two years ago, seeking passport and permission to go abroad.

Sadhvi Prachi?approached the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Sita Ram?and prayed that she be allowed to secure passport for her travel abroad for preaching.

Government prosecutor Mewalal opposed her plea saying that she is an accused in a case pending in court.

Sadhvi Prachi appeared in the court?and filed the application through her lawyer Chanderveer.

She had contested the 2012 Uttar Pradesh assembly elections?on a BJP ticket and was among?40 persons?accused of inciting riots through their speeches in the year 2013.

More than 60 persons?were killed in the riots that had broken out in Muzaffarnagar?and adjoining districts in September, 2013
