New Delhi: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Friday rejected claims that it was acting like a "remote control" of the Narendra Modi government, as it concluded a three-day "coordination" meeting with the top brass of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) here.
The Sangh said that the Modi government at the Centre was moving in the right direction with commitment and dedication, and added that there was no need for it to review its performance.
"Only 14 months have passed. There is more time and a lot more is to be done. Whatever has been done so far, the direction is right, dedication, commitment and achievements are good. We have to move forward. There cannot be 100 percent satisfaction for everyone," RSS joint general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale said.

"We are not reviewing nor are we giving any message to the government. We are only sharing inputs," he added.
Hosabale clarified that the RSS only gave "inputs" to Modi government's ministers and stressed that it had the right to do so.
During the three-day meeting, senior Cabinet ministers briefed the RSS leadership and even gave presentations. PM Modi attended the meeting today - the last day of the deliberations.

Modi said his government has done a lot of work in the over one-and-a-half years that it has been in power and added that it was working for the development of all.

"I am also from the Sangh and understands its commitment to development and antyodaya (development of the last man)," Ram Madhav, BJP general secretary, quoted the PM as having told the conclave.
Making it absolutely clear that he had no problem in taking orders from the Sangh, PM Modi said that he is a proud member of the RSS and hopes to continue to receive guidance from it in the future.
The RSS, on its part, rejected criticism that it was giving directions to the government and ministers were violating the oath of secrecy by reporting to it.
"We are not an illegal organisation. We are also citizens of the country. We have every right to ask ministers, who are also swayamsevaks. Where is the question of secrecy. Swayamsevaks have become ministers," Hosabale told reporters.

Asked about Congress' criticism that RSS was acting like a remote control, he shot back saying "what Congress says we need not reply. They were run on remote control. So they have no moral right to talk about us".
The RSS clarification came even as Congress vice-president apparently targeted the BJP's parent organisation dubbing it as an "intolerant non-state actor" "controlling" the Narendra Modi government.
"Modiji can see intolerant non-state actors controlling large territories evrywhr-but not the intolerant non-state actor ctrling him&hisGovt!" Rahul said in a tweet without naming the RSS.
Meanwhile, the RSS said that it would wait for the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya as per government's time-table as the issue was pending before the Supreme Court.
