New Delhi: Police has registered a case in the suicide of Sankalp Anand, son of film lyricist Santosh Anand, as per news reports on Saturday.

The names of 38 people have been mentioned in the FIR.

Sankalp (38) and his wife (34) had committed suicide by jumping in front of train from Agra to Delhi near Kosi kalan in Mathura on Wednesday.

He also left behind a 10-page hand-written suicide letter in his car.

In the note, Sankalp, who was a lecturer at a government institute in Delhi, wrote that they were taking the extreme step due to financial problems, police said.

According to police, Sankalp and his family had come to Mathura from Delhi this morning. They then went to the railway tracks near Kosikalaan town here and threw themselves before an approaching train, but their daughter somehow got pushed back and escaped with severe injuries.

Besides the suicide note, Sankalp's voter-ID and driver's license were found from the car.

Sankalp's father Santosh reached Mathura after he was informed about the couple's death, officials said.
