Sushma highlighting other issues to sideline her own case: Congress

Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday accused External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj of talking about issues that were as old as 30 to 35 years, rather than focusing on her own prevailing issue.

New Delhi: Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday accused External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj of talking about issues that were as old as 30 to 35 years, rather than focusing on her own prevailing issue.

"Whatever Sushma Swaraj has said, she has replied to the questions of 30-35 years back (Warren) Anderson, Bofors and other things. She has not replied to my questions which I raised, nearly nine questions. She did not reply," Kharge told ANI.

"It means that she wants to suppress all the facts and wants to highlight the other issues which had taken place during the UPA Government, just to sideline her issues and misdirect the people," he added.

Swaraj had yesterday taken the Congress party by the horns, defending her role in the former IPL chief Lalit Modi controversy that has seen almost the entire Monsoon session wiped out.

"I've not been blamed once in my 38-year long political career. My public life is spotless. It is the Congress that is guilty, not me. I repeat, I've done nothing wrong. - You shout 'we want justice' but it's me who needs justice," she said.

"I want to tell Rahul Gandhi.. you love going on holidays. On your next vacation, when you are alone, read the history of your family. And when you come back, ask your mummy, "how much money did we get in the Quattrochi case?" she added.

"Quid pro quo is what happened during Rajiv Gandhi's government. Who let Anderson fly out of the country?" she added.
