Srinagar: Minor clashes broke out today between supporters of two political parties in central Kashmir's Budgam district, police said.

Clashes broke out between National Conference workers and supporters of Peoples Democratic Front in Khansahib Assembly constituency of the district, a police official said.

He said the clashes broke out after supporters of both the political parties were campaigning in the area.

Police swung into action and chased away the clashing groups, the official said, adding no one was injured.

Khansahib is currently represented by PDF chief Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen in the state Assembly.

The constituency is going to polls on December 9 in the third phase of the five-phased Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
