Srinagar: One militants were killed in a gun battle between security forces and militants holed up in a village in Pulwama district of south Kashmir.

Troops of 53 Rashtriya Rifles and police cordoned off Naina Batapora village yesterday evening following information about the presence of the militants in the area.
The security forces had halted fire late in the night to rescue villagers trapped in a mosque before going all out against the militants.
