Mumbai: As Maharashtra Police still looks for the motive behind the Thane murders, a report on Saturday said that 35-year-old Hasnain Anwar Warekar, who is accused of killing 14 members of his family used to rape his mentally-challenged sister.
The startling fact about Hasnain came to the fore after the lone woman survivor, identified as his sister, Sabia Yusuf Bharmal (22) told the police that the accused used to rape his mentally-challenged younger sister.
According to 'Zee 24Taas' report, Subiya told the police that the family got to know about Hasnain's sister's ordeal on February 04, following which he was left very disturbed.
Earlier, today a report claimed that Hasnain used Clozapine to sedate his kin before murdering them.
Last month, Thane, a bustling suburb of Mumbai, was under shock and disbelief over the horrifying murder of 14 members of a family by none other than one of their own kin.
The gory incident took place in Thane's Kasarvadavli area when assailant Warekar slit the victims' throats with a large knife one after the other after lacing their food with drugs.
The deceased were identified as - Zabin Hasnen Warekar (28 - wife of Hasnen), Mushadshera Hasnen Warekar (06), Umera Hasnen Warekar (3 months) (both his daughters), Anwar Warekar (55 - father), Azgadi Anwar Warekar (50 - mother), Rabina Shaukat Khan (35), Batul Anwar Warekar (30), Maria Irfan Fakki (28) (all three sisters).
The deceased also include children of the three sisters - Anas Shaukat Khan (12), Sabiya Shaukat Khan (16), Ali Hasan Shaukat Khan (05), Umer Irfan Fakki (7), Yusuf Irfan Fakki (4) and Asriya Sojef Burmal (5 months).
