149 incidents of ceasefire violation by Pakistan

As many as 149 cases of ceasefire violation by Pakistan were reported this year, in which 12 security personnel lost their lives, Lok Sabha was told on Tuesday.

New Delhi: As many as 149 cases of ceasefire violation by Pakistan were reported this year, in which 12 security personnel lost their lives, Lok Sabha was told on Tuesday.

Minister of State for Home Mullappally Ramachandran also said 24 others were injured in these incidents.

Ramachandran said instances of ceasefire violation along the Line of Control and International Boundary in Jammu and Kashmir have been taken up through mechanism of Director General of Military Operations level hotline.
"Government has also repeatedly called upon Pakistan to uphold the sanctity of the LoC and abide by its 2003 ceasefire commitment, including the talks between the Prime Ministers of India and Pakistan on the sidelines of UN General Assembly in New York on September 29," he said.
