Kochi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Kumar Vishwas, who is facing legal cases for his controversial remarks, has once again landed in trouble for his derogatory remarks on Malayali nurses, whom he addressed as `kaali peeli` sisters in 2008.

A YouTube video of Vishwas`s stage show in 2008 has gone viral, in which he can be seen saying,“Pehle jab aadmi bimar padhta tha bechara purush to jata tha haspatal mein toh tassali rakhta tha. Pehle narsein jo thee Keral se aati thi, kaali peeli si. Toh moonh se `sister` nikalta tha. Andar se aavaz nikalti thi ki `Allah, sister hi ho!` Bahut saari ladkiyan profile pe photo lagati hi nahi, ki pata nahin kya ho jaye. Ab aaj kal to nurse bhi north India ki aane lagi, ekdum bilkul shandar.”
Vishwas booked in Lucknow

The fresh incident came to fore just a day after a case was filed against the poet-turned-leader of the AAP in Lucknow.

The case against Vishwas was filed by Ram Prasad Mishra, general secretary of the Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Sewa Samiti, for allegedly making "hurtful" remarks against Karbala martyrs and some Hindu deities.

Mishra alleged that some of the poems and utterances of Vishwas were inflammatory and hurt religious sentiments of Hindus and Muslims. The case against Vishwas has been registered under Sections 295, 295 (a) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), officials said.

Another video had surfaced, which showed Vishwas allegedly joking about Muharram during one of his performances. Vishwas had apoogised saying he has hurt the sentiments of any religion.

Vishwas is likely to contest the Lok Sabha elections from Amethi against Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi.
AAP office ransacked

An AAP office in Kochi was ransacked allegedly by Youth Congress activists over remarks made by Vishwas against Malayali nurses nearly six years ago.

The Congress workers alleged that the remarks, made during a speech in Ranchi in 2008 and uploaded on a social networking site recently, were laced with "sexist undertone".

Reacting sharply to Vishwas`s comments, Bindu Krishna, All India vice-president of the Mahila Congress, demanded that a criminal case be registered against the AAP leader for making "sexist comments" against Malayali nurses, who had a reputation for rendering exemplary services in hospitals within and outside the country.

She also asked the AAP leadership to spell out its stand on the remarks of Vishwas.

Joining the chorus of protesters, eminent Malayali writer Sara Joseph, who joined AAP last week, said, "Remarks of Vishwas are totally deplorable. I strongly protest it. I expect that the AAP leadership will come out with a clarification on the issue."

Police said Youth Congress workers took out a march to the AAP office on MG road in Kochi and threw stones and ransacked the office. They reportedly threw eggs, broke some chairs and windowpanes.

They also shouted slogans against AAP and Vishwas, sources said. Mahila Congress workers also took out a march to the office.
