Dehradun, July 12: The BJP on Sunday revoked the
suspension of 21 dissident leaders in Uttarakhand who had
drawn the leadership`s ire last month over the demand for
removal of B C Khanduri as Chief Minister.
State BJP President Bachi Singh Rawat decided to
revoke suspension order against these leaders after they
expressed regret for their action, state general secretary
Teerath Singh Rawat said.
However, Rawat issued a stern warning to them stating
that such things should not recur, he said.
The leaders who were suspended include party`s state
youth wing President Gajraj Singh Bist, chairman of
Pithoragarh municipal council Rajendra Rawat and state working
committee member Rajesh Shukla.
They were charged with airing their views in public in
support of B S Koshiyari, who was seeking Khanduri`s removal,
following his resignation from Rajya Sabha on Jun 17.
As the word of Koshiyari`s resignation spread, nearly
two dozen leaders quit their posts and took out processions in
Almora and Pithoragarh.
