Committee on deemed universities to suggest action plan

A high-level committee, which reviewed the functioning of the deemed universities, has been asked to suggest an action plan to implement the recommendations, the government told the Rajya Sabha on Friday.

reviewed the functioning of the deemed universities, has been
asked to suggest an action plan to implement the
recommendations, the government told the Rajya Sabha
on Friday.

The review committee, constituted by the HRD Ministry,
has already submitted its report which is under the active
consideration of the government, Minister of State for HRD D
Purandeswari said in a written reply.
She said the ministry has not asked the committee to
make any additional recommendations.

The committee was set up to study the functioning of
the 130 deemed universities which are under scanner of the
government.
The committee comprising Prof M Ananthakrishnan, Prof
Mrinal Miri, Prof Govardhan Mehta and Prof P N Tandon
finalised the report after going through the presentations
made by 126 deemed universities.
