Bouyed by the steep fall in inflation, the Congress today hoped that it would come down to 5-6 percent in the next few months, in time for the general elections.

New Delhi, Nov 14: Bouyed by the steep fall in
inflation, the Congress today hoped that it would come down to
5-6 percent in the next few months, in time for the general
elections.

"From August till this month, inflation has come down
by a steep four percent. It is the steepest fall," party
spokesman Manish Tewari told reporters in New Delhi.

From the beginning, the spokesman said, the party held
that prices of oil and commodities were pushing inflation and
the moment the prices come down, so would inflation.

Tewari claimed that the prices of food items too were
coming down.
