Congress demands President`s rule in Chhattisgarh

Congress on Saturday demanded President`s rule in Chhattisgarh, following one of the worst Naxal attacks in the state in which 30 police personnel were killed.

Raipur, July 12: Congress on Saturday demanded President`s
rule in Chhattisgarh, following one of the worst Naxal attacks
in the state in which 30 police personnel were killed.

Dhanendra Sahu, Leader of the Opposition in the state Assembly
Ravindra Choubey and former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi said the
attacks there has been a conspicuous rise in Naxal attacks in
the state.

This is a failure of the state government and it has no
right to stay in power, they said adding the President`s rule
should be imposed.

"If a top cop like Superintendent of Police is being
killed in Naxal attacks, how can the government assure safety
of a common man," Jogi asked.

Thirty persons, including Rajnandgaon Superintendent of
Police Vinod Kumar Choubey were killed in three separate
attacks by the Naxals.
