Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Congress
president Saifuddin Soz today said his party will play the
role of a "facilitator" in the ensuing dialogue and
discussions on the recommendations submitted by the working
group on Centre-State relations.
"I have not seen the report of the working group headed
by Justice (Retd) Sagir Ahmad as yet. However, Congress will
play the role of a facilitator as dialogue and discussion is
the only option available for the settlement of Kashmir," soz
said here.
Referring to the recommendations advocating examination
of autonomy proposal in the light of `Kashmir Accord`, Soz
said he had no objection to the concept of autonomy to Jammu
and Kashmir within the Constitution of the country.
"I have no quarrel with other groups who have mooted
other ideas. Dialogue is the only option and involvement of
representatives of all the three regions is imperative," he
said.
He said other documents were not excluded as the
self-rule proposal of opposition PDP was not available. "It
is a matter of dialogue and discussions to reach a settlement
on Kashmir," he added.
