New Delhi: The husband of women journalist, having an affair with 67-year-old Congress leader Digvijay Singh, on Wednesday wished her well.
In a Facebook post, Amrita Rai`s husband Anand Pradhan, who is living separately from her, wrote that he was going through a difficult phase and that both of them had been living apart for sometime now. He also said that their relationship had ended long time back and that they were in the middle of a legal process which takes time.
Pradhan added, “Amrita is free to take any decision regarding her life after separating from me and I respect that. I wish her all the best for her life and future.”
He further appealed to everyone to respect his privacy and hoped that he would come out of `the difficult phase soon`.
At the same time Amrita`s husband exhorted everyone to respect women and not see them from a myopic mindset.
Digvijay accepted today after photos with her and Amrita went viral that he was in a relationship with the TV anchor and planned to marry, her after the social media went viral about it.
"I have no hesitation in accepting my relationship with Amrita Rai. She and her husband have already filed a mutual consent divorce case...Once that is decided we would formalise it," the former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh tweeted.
"But I do condemn encroachment in our private life," the Congress General Secretary added after media reports about their relationship appeared.

Singh`s wife Asha passed away last year after prolonged illness. He has four daughters and a son from his marriage. Rai, said to be in her early 40s, also tweeted that she will marry Singh after divorce with her husband.
"I have separated from my husband and we have filed a mutual consent divorce papers. After which I have decided to marry with Digvijaya Singh," she tweeted.
Rai alleged that her email account and computer were hacked.
