Ghaziabad: Appealing the government for help, an Indian held hostage by Somali pirates along with fifteen compatriots has said that they feared for their lives.

Chirag Bari, 27, onboard the German based ship hijacked from the Gulf of Aden on May 8 yesterday called up his parents in Modinagar, 30 kms from here, and said that their food
stocks will last for only four days.

"My son fears for his life as 25 pirates are covering the
ship with guns and other weapons," said Chirag`s father
Pradeep Bari.

"Chirag is also disturbed as drinking water and food
materials will last for only four days," the distraught father
said.

Out of 19 crew members, 16 are Indian, one Ukrainian and
two belong to Bangladesh.

Pradeep Bari said the family members of the Indian crew
have sent a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh seeking
help for their safe release.
