New Delhi: Kalai Selvi, wife of Union Minister V Narayanasamy, passed away at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here Friday morning following a brief illness.
52-year-old Selvi was undergoing treatment at AIIMS for the past few days, official sources said.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi visited the hospital to pay their tribute to the departed soul.
Narayanasamy, a Lok Sabha member from Puducherry constituency, is a Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions and in Prime Minister`s Office.
The Minister has a son and a daughter.
Her body is likely to be taken to Puducherry for the last rites, the sources said.
