Bikaner: The frontline 67th Armoured Regiment was on Friday honoured with the President`s Standard here in recognition of its dedicated service for over four decades.

A formation of roaring tanks took part in the parade commanded by Colonel B Ravi on the occasion as Army Chief General Bikram Singh bestowed the rare and prestigious honour upon the regiment for its meritorious service since its inception on September 15, 1967.
The 67th Armoured Regiment is front line Regiment of the Indian Armoured Corps which has participated in a large number of operations undertaken by the Army and has also contributed personnel for UN peace keeping operations, according to defence spokesperson S D Goswami.

In military parlance, colours and standard symbolise excellence and are bestowed in recognition of distinguished services rendered by a force.
To commemorate the day, the Chief of Army Staff also released a `Special Day Cover`.

The ceremony was attended by Lt Gen AK Sahni, South Western Army Commander, Lt Gen NS Ghei, GOC CHETAK Corps and a number of senior military and civil dignitaries.
